Founded in 2002, BaroFold, Inc. currently employs approximately 30 people at its corporate headquarters and laboratory in Boulder, Colorado.
The company was formed to commercialize its PreEMT™ High Pressure Technology, a patented protein disaggregation/refolding technology invented at the University of Colorado by BaroFold founders, Dr. Ted Randolph and Dr. John Carpenter.
BaroFold’s development candidates target chronic indications having significant physician and patient demand for therapies that are more tolerable and efficacious that those currently available.
BaroFold is well funded and has leveraged its unique technology to form relationships with several biopharmaceutical companies including Genentech, Pfizer, Eli Lily and others. The company closed on its Series A institutional financing in May 2007, raising US$12 million from seasoned healthcare investors, including Boulder Ventures and HBM BioVentures.
